Owning a website like yourname.com takes some experience and knowledge. And you have to be able to enter into a contract to own a domain. And you need to comprehend HTML and Javascript. The ability to make graphics on your own.

What is your preferred low cost web hosting site?
Take a look at Media Temple's grid server. Not the cheapest but worth the cost to use the network they have setup, you can also host multiple domains.





You can also keep an eye out for Dreamhost which occasionally has ridiculous sales. Although I do not care for their control panel very much.
