Is there a way of finding out who is actually providing web hosting for a particular website?

I need to change settings on the host server, but dont know who actually hosts the site, need to contact them to get login details!

It might be useful to look up who registered the domain at:

http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/in...

When I look up my own domain, I see the company that

I use for hosting, which was sufficient (in this case) to find

a contact phone number.

By the way, the tail end of that URL was cut off, but it is:

/whois/index.jsp

Additional info: I came across another resource which

presents the information slightly differently:

http://whoishostingthis.com/

Go to BetterWhoIs and look up the domain name. The nameservers (look for NS1 and NS2) should be a clue as to the host. If you can't tell from the nameservers, look them up on google.

Reply:do a whois search then enter the web address and search it will then tell you who owns the site, who hosts it and all sorts.
