Is there such a thing as free web hosting? including domain name?
because i am not comfortable handing over credit card deets and hey, who wants to pay for something they dont have to!
Is there such a thing as free web hosting? including domain name?
No. Well lets look at it this way. They company giving you free webhosting does bulk your website up with many things. Like in my case http://thetechhub.tripod.com/thetechhub/ is a website I made and given the fact it is on tripod I get many adverts on the screen. But then again you can direct more traffic to it and make some money from google ads.
I am just a college kid with a small company and cant afford web space so I went for the "free" web hosting service.
Is there such a thing as free web hosting? including domain name?
There is free web hosting but you'll have to put up with advertising of some sort.
Try this :
http://www.150m.com/
[I recommend it because I use it myself]
or you could use Yahoo!'s geocities.
Reply:No. And no online provider is stupid enough to offer both free domain name and website hosting and be expected to render quality support.
If you need support with what you want, be ready to pay.
Reply:No there is no such thing.
Don't worry about handing over the credit card. These are multimillion dollar companies. I've been hosting online for 10 years and never had a problem.

I recommend Startlogic or Bluehost
Reply:Hello,
Like what everyone has mentioned, a paid and a free hosting makes a lot of difference. There is no free lunch. Usually, there will be some drawbacks.
If you want to find free hosting, you can have a look at : http://www.freewebhostingarea.com/
If you change your mind and would want to go for paid ones, try this : http://www.exabytes.com/
Reply:you will never get free hosting + domain ,
you can however get free hosting and subdomain
for free hosting, try google superpages or yahoo geocities ,
its sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages %26amp; geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 500 GIG bandwidth and the rich with features
its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name

Is it possible the get a free web hosting?
Yes, but if you go that route, the hosting company will place advertisements and banners on your site. You will have no control over what banners/advertisements and no control over where they are placed. That is the price you pay for free hosting. If you want something hosting for a small cost check out ipowerweb. You can get a great package, plus domain registration at a really cheap price.
Is it possible the get a free web hosting?
I'm not sure. I think it's important to get the "right" web hosting for your needs. What do you want to host? Do you need a web-based contact form that emails you? Yahoo! Small Business hosting does that for about $12/month (I've used them for years and am quite satisfied). I think GoDaddy has even cheaper plans if you don't need anything that fancy.
Is it possible the get a free web hosting?
Yes.
Reply:Yes, but most have adds and only allow around 10mb not quite as good I would suggest dot5hosting.com if you want paid 2ip.com for free or you can look up the one of your dreams at free-webhosts.com
Reply:It is VERY important to select the right host for your needs. Some maybe cheap, but do they actually give YOU what YOU want?
Some state, 'You cant host these certain sites' etc etc
Now I myself have NO RESTRICTIONS on what my customers want to host/build, i also give them lifetime support PLUS bonus software/sites

Reply:Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.
If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.
Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.
When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.
Good luck!

Has anyone here used bluehost.com for web hosting?
If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.
I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.
Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
